Intermediate QA Tester - 12 month role
We are looking for some with 3 years Game Dev QA Testing experience for a 12 month fixed term role. There is a possibility to turn this into a permanent role.
As an Intermediate QA Tester, you will be embedded within the development team and will be responsible for testing the game and subsequent updates before release, so the project is high quality in terms of overall player experience, technical considerations, platform requirements and stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages database(s) of bugs to avoid invalid or duplicate issues and provide an accurate understanding of the qualitative state of the project or projects.
- Actively engages with compliance testing to provide useful feedback to the development team and helps achieve certification on all necessary platforms.
- Prepare, deploy and test game builds as required.
- Consistently enters high-quality bugs based on department standards and performs accurate regressions of existing bugs
- Work directly with developers to test features and provide qualitative feedback
- Responsible for providing first line support to developers, both internal and external
- Be a champion of quality and will ensure that our products are shipped to the highest standards
- Generates, maintains and executes testing plans effectively with the support of senior team members.
- Provide comprehensive performance reports to stakeholders on the current state of the game using our debug tools
- Supports their peers and senior members of their team in assessing and escalating issues and concerns to the QA Lead, Director and Producer.

Qualifications and Experience
- Proven ability for bug finding, communication, reporting skills and working under pressure
- Experience providing front line support
- Excellent analytical, problem identification and solving skills
- Excellent communicator with a high standard of written, oral and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail, maintaining diligence and focus for extended periods
- Knowledgeable in the different stages of a project’s development and different development methodologies
- Experienced with a variety of test tools including bug databases like Jira
- Experienced in writing reports and analysing data
Japanese Visa Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or 10 years of experience.
Timezones and work location
We are considering candidates based in Japan or New Zealand (as we have physical studios in both locations).
We are looking to hire a Full Time employee, for a Fixed Term of 12 months.
